The Ella Flagg Young School Community is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders in promoting excellence in education through creating a learning environment that cultivates all students to be independent readers and writers, critical thinkers and decision makers. Fostering a student centered culture while providing a safe equitable learning environment. We strive to empower students to become resourceful, ambitious and collaborative partners in their learning through learner choice and student ownership. Our mission is to promote opportunities for all students to achieve their maximum potential in all aspects of life- academically, socially, emotionally and physically for the purpose of educating the whole child. Students will learn to function with a sense of community while maintaining individuality and creative self expression. We prepare students by treating them with respect and in return learning to respect others. This environment allows students to become active participants in their learning. We believe that all students will leave Ella Flagg Young with a deep appreciation and value the quality of an education along with being college and career ready.
